Say Cheeeeeessse!

Hi, I'm Lily and ten years ago, this Mexican gal didn't know how to fry an egg. My version of a home cooked breakfast was a bowl of cornflakes with a piece of burnt toast. My culinary skills amounted to zero. Newly arrived in Ireland, I soon found myself homesick for the tastes and smells of home, so I decided to give cooking a try... I never looked back, I love it!

When I'm not busy working for an Irish not-for-profit organisation and managing My Mexican Shop, you can find me in my Dublin kitchen, pottering around, experimenting with new recipes, growing food in my small back garden, entertaining friends or planning another mad cake for my many god-children. I'm a member of The Irish Food Bloggers Association  and I passionately believe in the Slow Food ethos of good, clean and fair food. I have a very extensive collection of cookery books and I believe one can never have enough kitchen tools or gadgets: You name it, I have it!

Despite the very cold and wet days, I love living in Ireland with my very Irish other half, Alan, who to my delight is a chocoholic and has developed a palate for the exotic and hot. We keep a nice balance at home: I cook, we eat, he washes up: a match made in heaven!
